Default Called with my RF dialer, showed up on ATT bill

    Hi,

I called Germany using my RF dialer and the call showed up on my bill. This 34 min call is an expensive way to discover that the dialer does not work. For clarification:
    1. Downloaded the dialer
    2. Have the link set as favorites on iphone
    3. Activated dialer with the favorites link
    4. Confirmed that the dialer was indeed ringfree (looked for logo and other distinguishing factors such as font and the notation that I use ATT)
    5. Entered the german phone number
    6. Confirmation box pop up clicked
    7. Iphone dialer activated and showed the number I entered into RF dialer
    8. Call went through and I talked for 34 minutes trusting the rf dialer I initially engaged.

What happened? Why did rf dialer engage the iphone dialer and use the att system?

    Taja

It sounds as though you have not entered a VoIP service provider to make your calls to Germany. Without a service provider, the only way to make a call to a regular phone number (in other words, not an SIP URI or a VoIM user on GoogleTalk, Yahoo, MSN, etc.) would be through cellular carrier.

If the pull down menu on the upper left of the dialer shows your cellular carrier (in your case, AT&T) when you call, the call will go over the cellular network. If the pulldown lists your service provider, the all will go out through your iPhone on the RF server (the number the iPhone will show you are dialing is an RF number in the 415 area code), over IP to your service provider and then to your final destination.
