Data charges using Ringfree overseas?

Before my next trip to Mexico, just wanted to confirm: can I still use use Ringfree if I turn off data download and only connect via wi-fi? or can I do this via Phonegnome? (Gotta ask, I got hit hard with data charges last trip when I unknowingly hadn't turned off the data download feature). It's great if there are no or little cost on the calls but now it's the AT&T data charges that scare me.

The RF Dialer can use either WiFi or EDGE for the data channel. Keep in mind that we currently don't have any local access numbers outside the United States, so you would still have an international call back to the U.S.
