Need help to change my Phone number location

I , by mistake, didn't choose the right location for my local city and I have activated my phone number. I have tried to change it in my settings and no mater what I do it always go back to the wrong one. Even if I delete it and re-create it it seem that since it ever been activated that it go back to the older settings . Is there a way someone could help me to fix this issue ?
