Default LD from Toronto to US or within Canada

I registered my iphone on Rogers Toronto and tried to make a Long Distance call…The voice mail from Rogers indicated that it was going to make a LD call. Is this how RF should act? Need to know before I go nuts and call everyone and then get a LD Bill…

The RF Web Dialer uses the calling service you select to determine how to place your call.

If you select a VoIP provider, your office phone system, or an IM service like Skype, your call is routed through a local access number connected to our servers. Our servers then complete the call via the calling service you selected on the dial pad.

The exception, is if you select your mobile carrier for the calling service, then the call uses your mobile carrier for long distance and you would be charged their mobile long distance rates.
