Anyone know if it's possible to use RF.com to duplicate the functionality of the VonageTalk application? (i.e. just free outbound calls to other Vonage users) /edit Hmm looks like VonageTalk has evolved into a bigger application that it used to be and now uses your Vonage account (and therefore can no longer be used to call your own number) https://forums.vonage.com/showthread.php?t=663 Just to clarify what I'm trying to achieve - My home phone is on Vonage, I'd like to be able to call home from my iPhone for free over the Vonage network Last edited by ASHRID; 08-19-2008 at 06:56 AM. |

It may be possible to use RF.com with VonageTalk. From looking at the VonageTalk application source code, VonageTalk appears to use a version of WengoPhone. We don't have a test Vonage account, so you'll have to try the following from your RF.com account. From the RF Dialer, add your own provider and use the following settings:

Thanks for looking into it Eric. I get a 'the number you have called is not assigned' message in English and then French followed by '25' (using RF off iPhone in Toronto - tried calling via a US Vonage account as well as a Canadian Vonage account with correct respective credentials). From the sounds of the message its referring to RF's PoP dial-in number, so I'll try again later and perhaps be successful. (btw I tried both, US and Canadian destination numbers each time - all same result) |
