Default Update FAQ - Wi-fi Support or Not?

    Hey,

I'm not 100% sure whether or not RingFree runs with WiFi... it seems that in some places it says no, and in other places it seems yes. I read the FAQ, but it seems out of date since it references the fact that Apple has not yet opened its SDK. I thought that happened earlier this year? I appreciate a lot of people are super-busy making RF really cool, but please take a quick look at the FAQ to make sure it's up to date.

    Thanks,

    AJ

Yes guillona. You are right. It is important to update the FAQ frequently, and we haven't gotten to it in too long. Consider it updated, and us thankful to you for lighting the fire.

As to your specific question about WiFi: Currently RF.com is a web application and there is no way to offer WiFi voice connectivity on a web-only application on the iPhone. In order to do so, we would need to also offer RF.com as a native application.

Right now, our lips are sealed.

Default Lips Sealed - 'nuf said!

    Hi Marcelo:

I'm a new user - very excited to hear your lips're sealed re:RF as a native app. If I read that right, surely speaking for the larger RF community - we can hardly wait!

Thanks for taking a great concept to excellent execution with RF (particularly with the intelligence/foresight to tap into the oft-ignored Canadian market - you've got a strong lead on the PhoneGnome ilk) - and if there's anything we can do to ensure you're able to resell (ie make money) at the other end, surely all will pitch in toward keeping rf free for end-users.

    Kudos!

What is the purpose of this web application on an iphone? Why would we not just dial the number we want instead of going through voip? I guess for international calling there may be a use.

Now if it supported wifi it would be of great use.

    Looking for an iphone app.

RF Web Dial is mainly used by users that want to call users on IM services, international calls via a VoIP provider, or integration with an office phone system.

WiFi support will be available in our iPhone app.
